How to Install 12MM ptfe thread seal tape
Installing 12mm PTFE thread seal tape, also known as plumber's tape or Teflon tape, is a simple process. Follow these steps to properly install the tape for a secure and leak-free seal:
    Prepare the threaded fitting: Ensure that the threaded fitting, such as a pipe or valve, is clean and free of dirt, debris, and old tape residue. A clean surface will help the tape adhere properly and create an effective seal.
    Start the tape: Hold the end of the PTFE tape against the threads of the fitting and wrap it in a clockwise direction (when looking at the end of the fitting). The direction is important to ensure that the tape tightens when the fitting is threaded together.
    Apply tension: As you wrap the tape around the threads, apply gentle tension to keep the tape snugly in place. This will help prevent the tape from unraveling during installation.
    Overlap the tape: Wrap the tape around the fitting in a smooth and even manner, overlapping each successive wrap by about half the width of the tape. This ensures consistent coverage and helps create a solid seal.
    Continue wrapping: Continue wrapping the tape around the threaded portion until the desired number of wraps is achieved. Usually, three to five wraps are sufficient, but more may be needed for larger or higher-pressure applications.
    Tear the tape: Once you've wrapped the desired number of layers, tear the tape by pressing it against the fitting and snapping it off. Make sure the end is securely pressed onto the threads to avoid unraveling.
    Thread the fitting: With the tape in place, thread the fitting onto the corresponding threaded connection. Use the appropriate tools to tighten the fitting, but avoid over-tightening, as it may damage the threads or cause leaks.
    Check for leaks: After installation, turn on the water supply or pressurize the system to check for any leaks. If you notice any leaks, gently tighten the fitting a little more, or if necessary, disassemble and reapply the PTFE tape.
